God Exists, Kick the Tires

“Kick the tires” is an expression we use which means “To inspect something before buying it.”
The Bible gives us information about God and what He plans for His creation. He also gives us the opportunity to” kick the tires”.
Many today do not believe that God exists. However, God did not expect people to accept His existence on blind faith, so He provided evidence to those who might care to search Him out. That evidence exists both in nature and in the history of a people.
Those people are the children of Israel, the Jews. According to the Bible, God chose to have a relationship with a man named Abraham. As a result of having faith in God, Abraham became a central character in the Bible, mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments. God made promises to him. Those promises involve his descendants, the children of Israel. Those promises are amplified by the words of many Old Testament prophets. They point to this one verifiable fact that the children of Israel would exist as a nation in the days preceding the fulfillment of God’s promises to Abraham.

This has come to pass in spite of the fact that the nation was conquered and the people dispersed around the world. For nearly one thousand nine hundred years there was no nation. Against all odds, there is once again a Nation of Israel, populated by descendants of Abraham and living in the land promised to them. This is verifiable evidence that God exists and that the Bible is true.
“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1 (NLT) |
